QUARANTINE
All our fish at Essex Discus are quarantined for three weeks in which time we make sure all fish are wormed and treated for any disease and are fed on good quality foods. Only then are they made available for sale.

WATER PARAMETERS
Here at Essex Discus we cannot emphasise enough on how important water quality is. In our Discus fish room we change at least 20% of water per day and siphone the bottoms of each tank after each feed.We keep our tanks at 86f ph of 6.8to7 hardness between 300 to 350ppm.So we would recommend when you buy your Discus you acclimatise your Discus to your own water to prevent shock.

FEEDING
All our Discus are feed on a wide range of foods including good quality flake /homemade beefheart(special mix) tetra prima / we also use Discus delights food hampers which gives your fish a different saved food for seven days. We don’t feed bloodworm due to the risk it carries. All the foods that we feed are available on our product page.

WORMIMG
At Essex Discus we worm our Discus every month with wormer plus. We recommend that you do this as all the top breeders will tell you that it helps to keep your fish in top condition and helps your Discus get to full growth. Wormer plus is available from our product page.
